Janice Chandler-Eteme, soprano

Janice Chandler Eteme’s repertoire includes Strauss’ Four Last Songs, Mahler’s Second, Third, Fourth and Eighth Symphonies, Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang Symphony, the Requiems of Brahms, Mozart and Britten, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, and Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915. In regular demand for Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, she sang concert versions with the Milwaukee, Seattle, Detroit and Vancouver Symphonies, and Florida Orchestra. She has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic; Philadelphia Orchestra, Baltimore, Boston, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Montreal Symphonies, Rome’s Santa Cecilia Orchestra and Japan’s NHK Symphony, collaborating with such conductors as Marin Alsop, James Conlon, Christoph von Dohnányi, Andrew Litton, Esa-Pekka Salonen and the late Robert Shaw.
